Glenda Adams, RN, MSN, IBCLC

Glenda takes a compassionate, practical, individualize approach, partnering with families to achieve their personal goals in caring for their children. Glenda provides up to date recommendations so that families can make the best, informed decisions regarding the health and emotional well-being for themselves and their children.
Glenda grew up in Louisville, KY earning a BSN from the University of Louisville in 1991. Several years later, she joined the United States Air Force, serving for 10 years. Along her journey, she became certified as an International Board Certified Lactation in 1997, with latest re-certification in 2017. She earned an MSN from Old Dominion University. She is nearing completion of a PhD in nursing from the University of Louisville.
Since graduating from nursing school, Glenda has had the privilege of working as a postpartum and newborn nurse; NICU nurse; Labor & Delivery nurse; women’s health & gynecology nurse and nurse practitioner; inpatient and outpatient lactation consultant; and nursing education professor.
Glenda is currently of member of the United States Lactation Consultants Association; North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition; North Carolina Lactation Consultant Association; Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nurses.
Glenda is a life-long learner. She has presented at international, national, state, and local conferences. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, attending sporting events and Broadway shows, reading, and watching tv!
